I'm Neema Sadry. I work as a software engineer in Metro Detroit.
Just recently, in August 2023, I completed my graduate studies and obtained my second M.S. degree in Computer Science, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence from Wayne State University - College of Engineering.
The previous summer (May 2022 - August 2022), I had the opportunity and privelage to intern at InfluxData. During this time, I had the rare opportunity to learn about the Elixir programming language and the Phoenix framework, both of which I had been teaching myself over the years since the release of Phoenix v1.0. Interning at InfluxData, was truly special because out of the 100+ internship programs I came across, and the several dozen I applied to, I was selected for one out of only two positions to work with the backend team responsible for running InfluxDB Cloud.
Feel free to checkout the blog post for the Marketplace Simulator internship project we were tasked with building for our team. Furthermore, my team built a nifty automated stock trading model during Hackathon week.
Prior to studying computer science, I completed my studies in Neuroscience and Near Eastern Languages & Cultures at University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in 2014 and Basic Medical Sciences at Wayne State University - School of Medicine in 2017. The thesis I wrote as a requirement for the latter, titled Immune Infiltration in Malignant Gliomas was also published in the textbook: Nanotechnology-Based Targeted Drug Delivery Systems for Brain Tumors.
Furthermore, during this time, I participated in various laboratory and clinical research projects over at Henry Ford Hospital - Main Campus in Detroit with the Neurology Lab and Department of Neurosurgery, respectively. Some of our work was published, which you can either check out on my LinkedIn profile or on Google Scholar.
During my free time, I enjoy working on my own projects, practicing the piano, exercising, and reading, which spans anything from fantasy and sci-fi fiction to random articles posted on Hacker News (and of course the comments!). One of the projects I have been working on the longest time is Caliber, which is built using Ruby on Rails. The data collection component was built using Scrapy, a web scraping framework written in Python. You can find more projects that I've worked on here.
Feel free to reach out if you believe I would be an excellent addition to your outstanding engineering team or simply to just share something interesting!
